Positive Parenting and Effective Discipline with your child
Friday, April 11
| 4:30 PM

Positive discipline? Respectful limits? Gentle Parenting? Finding a parenting approach that helps your family thrive can feel daunting, especially as you adjust strategies to new challenges you didn’t experience during toddlerhood!

Come to learn what science actually tells us about how best to navigate discipline and limits in the early years, bust myths about respectful discipline, and find community as we talk through how to manage tricky moments and behaviors in everyday life.

Your Child's Brain development... and welcoming the big emotions, the tricky behavior, while nurturing their self-esteem
Friday, May 9 | 4:30 PM

Welcoming big emotions may feel different as your child grows, but it is still a key element of emotional intelligence, and nurturing a positive relationship long-term. Gain insight into your child's socioemotional development, what their behavior says about how they are feeling, and how to navigate limits accordingly. We'll discuss what to expect for this stage of their development and cover strategies to support their emotional intelligence and self-regulation skills even through tricky moments.

Nurturing independence, and the dance of “Freedom within Limits”
Friday, June 13 | 4:30 PM

Provide continuity to the work happening at school by supporting autonomy at home with strategies grounded on both developmental science and the Montessori philosophy. Learn why autonomy is a key part of socio-emotional development, and how to get started not just building independence skills but supporting your child's active participation in their daily needs and interests—especially as you prepare for the next step in their development where independence meets responsibility.

Important details…

  • Discussions will be tailored for caregivers of children ages 4 and 6 years old. If you have a child in the primary program, you’re in the right place!

If your child recently transitioned to the primary program, or just recently turned 3, the toddler series will be more aligned with their age.

If you have a toddler and want specific guidance for that age, visit the toddler series enrollment page here.

  • Deadline to enroll is March 28, 2025.

There are limited spots available for this cohort which will be closed to enrollment once the series begins.

  • The single sign-up fee* includes:

    • 3 learning sessions of up to 90 minutes of interactive learning and Q&A

    • Physical and digital resources summarizing the discussed content along with expert reading recommendations and resources.

    • Private WhatsApp group with Blanca and group members to discuss questions and get support between sessions, all in community with other caregivers joining you on the same path.

    • Discounted rates for individual parenting consultations with Blanca following the completion of the series.

*Fee is non-refundable and not transferrable to future series.

  • A la carte sessions are not available.

This series was carefully created to deliver learning about a holistic approach to parenting that nurtures the child’s socioemotional development and your relationship with them long-term. Each session will build on the next to help expand your understanding of your child’s socioemotional development and how to nurture it, instead of focusing on a specific “hack” or strategy.

Participation in the full series also offers you access to a community of like-minded parents (maybe even from your same classroom!) sharing the same journey, struggles, and efforts toward implementing the learned strategies.

  • Make-up sessions will not be available. After each meeting, you will still receive all learning materials via email and you will remain part of the ongoing WhatsApp discussion with Blanca and other caregivers who can help bring you up to speed.

  • Blanca Velázquez-Martin is a licensed psychotherapist and certified positive discipline educator with training in the Montessori method.

She has over a decade of experience focusing on evidence-based approaches to support childhood mental health and family well-being. As a Montessorian, her approach to support children and families includes a consideration not just of the child’s developmental needs, but the role of the prepared adult (the support you need!) and the child’s environment.

She has been an invited speaker at international Montessori conferences and various parenting podcasts, and is honored to now bring this series to the Archgate family.

You can learn more about Blanca and her background here.

  • Sessions will be held at 4:30 PM at the N4 Montessori campus, while your children are already learning and in their usual environment.

  • Absolutely! If you have a child in the primary program you will love this series, but we want to make sure all your questions are answered before you make the decision to enroll.

Tap here to get in touch with Blanca or reach out directly via email at hello@wholechildhome.com

  • Blanca will be available to answer general questions and expand on topics through the sessions and the chat group as you begin incorporating discussed strategies in your home.

She offers separate private consultations* for tailoring strategies for your family or to help you navigate a particular challenge you may going through with your child.

*You get a discount on these sessions as part a member of the Positive Parenting Series!

The Spring cohort requires a minimum of 6 caregivers for the series to take place.. If this requirement is not met before the enrollment deadline, you will receive a refund.

“Follow the child,
but follow them as their leader”

Dr. Maria Montessori

Hi, I’m Blanca,

I’m a licensed professional counselor, a certified positive discipline parent educator, and a professional with over a decade of focus on evidence-based practices (as a clinician and a researcher). I also hold a certificate for Montessori in the Home from the Prepared Montessorian Institute and grew up as a Montessori child myself.

Above all, I am a parent who is right in the trenches with you.

I spent years as a child therapist wishing there was more I could do to build parents’ parenting toolkit to support healthy behavioral and emotional health from the start. I founded Whole Child Home to pour all my professional training into empowering parents with science-based tools to support the emotional development of young children from within their home. My goal is to adapt everything I have learned through my training, what we know from psychosocial research, and what I have practiced to support other families and my own, to empower your journey at home.

It’s an honor to have you here, thank you for considering learning from this space.
