Have you ever wondered…

“Is there a Montessori approach to supporting my child’s behavior and big emotions?”

“Is there a professional out there who can guide me in navigating discipline with the Montessori method in mind?”

You’ve come to the right place.

My approach

Your child’s autonomy, self-discipline, self-regulation, and collaboration in the home are skills that develop gradually, not challenges that can be quickly “fixed” by simply following the steps from a social media post. No hacks or quick strategies will work unless you have a clear understanding of your child’s brain development, and learn how to navigate discipline as a life-long relationship of collaboration and mutual respect, guiding their journey as a conscious leader.

My work with families and caregiver communities is informed by my graduate training in Clinical Psychology and almost a decade of experience supporting children and families using evidenced-based approaches as a psychotherapist and psychosocial researcher.

No single social media post, parenting book, or workshop is going to fully address the unique needs of your family and your child. My goal is not to just pass on a couple of parenting strategies for a specific challenge but to nurture a research-informed mindset that supports your parenting journey and your continued learning beyond our work together. Informed not just by my expertise and experience, but by personalized work that considers your unique cultural and family values.

How Montessori fits into Parenting

Contemporary child development research continuously sheds scientific light on many of the principles Dr. Maria Montessori established over 100 years ago to nurture a child’s self-esteem, confidence, internal motivation, and joy for participation in their environment and culture.

As a behavioral health professional, I consider the Montessori approach a valuable concrete method with powerful tools to bring healthy emotional development into your home—not with specific toys, shelves, or materials, but through awareness of yourself as the most important element in the home to support healthy emotional development.

A former Montessori student myself, I now integrate this philosophy and approach as a parent and have obtained formal certification from the Prepared Montessorian Institute for implementing the Montessori philosophy in the home.

And so, my approach to support your parenting through Whole Child Home is grounded on the science of brain development while also considering the deep impact of a home environment prepared to nurture independence and learning, and a prepared adult to guide as their leader in the process. Always considering your child as a capable learner in the process—yes, even when it comes to those tricky moments filled with big emotions.

Welcome!

Siempre volveremos a ti.

  • Blanca helped us validate the strategies using to navigate a shift in our 3 year old’s behavior and gave us practical tweaks to what we were doing to help us with what we were struggling with. What we liked the most is that her recommendations were practical and easy to incorporate to our daily rhythm.

  • It was very helpful to focus on one or two areas that we are struggling with right now. The feedback was supportive and reassuring, but also informative as far as next steps.
